Your Responsibilities:

  • To oversee and ensure the safe and efficient production operation at FDL Stafford, supporting Performance Excellence Lead whilst managing the interface between the processing, logistics and maintenance.
  • Provide proactive support to the Operations Manager, deputising for them in their absence.
  • Ensure company safety, health & environmental procedures are followed and enforced by Shift superintendents.
  • Manage and develop direct reports ensuring their quality of work, performance and motivation levels meet the required standards.
  • Ensure reports fully understand their own role and what is expected from them, providing support and guidance to achieve business objectives.
  • Drive Performance Excellence within the manufacturing teams.
  • Ensure all production is running efficiently and in optimum order, advising on modifications and improvements.
  • Make optimum use of equipment, people and resources, providing pro-active leadership in all areas of the manufacturing operation.
  • Review manufacturing performance with recommendations for improved efficiencies and reducing cost.
  • Ensure procedures encourage efficient and safe working procedures, a productive environment and discretionary performance.
  • Ensure compliance with GMP, HACCP and Food Safety Policies.
  • Continuously review operation performance in terms of key performance indicators (KPI’s) and action improvements when necessary.
  • Provide a centralised communication link between production, commercial, logistics and maintenance departments.
  • Maintain good communications between all levels of employees and ensure supervisors foster such values.

Your Profile:

  • At least 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Line Managerial experience with an appreciation of employee relations issues (Optional).
  • Good experience working with H&S in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong people management skills.
  • Intermediate level in MS software packages including Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint.
  • Strong change management capabilities.
