Your Role
An opportunity has arisen for a Site Operative in Corby, UK. The main purpose of this role is to support the site milling team to achieve production requirements including a high standard of health & safety, food safety, high quality (to include minimal waste) and cost control. The longer‑term purpose is to gain the skills to be able to fulfil the role of a Miller in the future. The position is based on a shift system of four on / four off which is two days & two nights. The position reports to the Production Manager.
Your Responsibilities
- Working safely at all times with particular focus on adhering to ADM life critical standards.
- Carefully following procedures that help to ensure high standards of food safety and product quality.
- Completion of cleaning and hygiene requirements as per the allocated schedule.
- Maintain a high focus on milling KPI targets (e.g. – wheat extraction, maximise throughput & minimise downtime).
- Laboratory testing of wheat and flour samples to ensure high quality standards.
- Effective communication with all departments to ensure efficient operations.
- Accurate completion of all relevant paperwork.
- Production planning.
- Efficient supervision of mill machinery.
- Completion of any identified training and development programmes (e.g., the 7 NABIM exams).
- Weighbridge operations when required.
- Lone working is required on night and weekend shifts.
After successful completion of induction training the successful candidate will be working on a shift rota on 4 days on / 4 days off repeating pattern. These are either day shift, 06:00 hours to 18:00 hours, or night shift, from 18:00 hours to 06:00 hours. These shifts will be spent either covering as a mill technician, routine work on mill maintenance days, or any other task to enable the milling operation to meet the requirements of the business.

- Familiarity with common Microsoft Applications.
- GCSE educated, with grade C or above (or equivalent) in mathematics, science, and English.
- Problem‑solving skills.
- Good time management.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Previous experience within the food or manufacturing industry.
