An opportunity has arisen for a Site Operative based in Edinburgh, UK. This is a multi-functional role covering several areas of the production and site operations. Reporting to the Production Manager, the main purpose of this role is to ensure the efficient operation of all production, whilst also supporting other site functions such as weighbridge, laboratory and hygiene. The individual must ensure that all health & safety, quality and food safety standards are met and exceeded at all times, as set by the company. The role is a fixed shift pattern which involves 12 hours shifts over a 7 day period.
Your Responsibilities
- Adhere to company Health and Safety guidelines at all times.
- Maintain accurate records as detailed in each area for performance and hygiene purposes.
- Undertake any necessary training in order to fulfil job requirements.
- Ensure absolute product safety through careful management of all process lines and product handling.
- Support the site's policies and procedures.
- Ensuring milling downtime is minimised to ensure optimum plant efficiency.
- Carrying out food safety checks.
- Weighbridge Operations.
- Laboratory testing of flour and wheat samples.
- Cleaning and hygiene requirements.
- Supporting other areas of operations.
- Employ a clean as you go policy including the removal of waste to the allocated area.
- Lone Working.
- Work towards completing all 7 UK Flour Millers modules.
