This role requires a highly organised and proactive Innovations Technologist to assist in the end-to-end product development and commercialisation process for products manufactured at our sites.
Main Responsibilities:
- Work with Senior Innovations Technologist and/or NPD Manager on Customer Briefs to assist in the preparation and dispatch of samples.
- Prepare samples in a hygienic and accurate manner.
- Prepare paperwork to accompany samples (Labels, Submission Sheets, Sample Advice Notes).
- Enter recipes on FDL system.
- Work with NPD Manager/ Head of Lab to assess the suitability of new raw materials.
- Follow the Lab Health and Safety procedures, using equipment in an appropriate manner.
- Understand relevant factory processes and attend factory trials and product launches.
- Assist with shelf-life trials to set microbiological and organoleptic standards.
- Support with visits from customers.
- Support the Innovation Team in projects as required.
Skills & Abilities:

- Flexibility to travel to other sites, sometimes at short notice.
Education & Experience:
- Educated to degree level in Food Science or Technology or similar.
- Industry experience (including as part of a degree).
- Knowledge of Food hygiene and HACCP.
