ADM Protexin, part of ADM – a global leader in nutrition and bioscience – is offering an exciting opportunity for a Laboratory Intern to join our Quality team. This internship will give you invaluable exposure to real-world laboratory processes, scientific techniques, and quality standards. You’ll work alongside experienced scientists, contribute to meaningful projects, and develop practical skills that will enhance your academic learning and support your future career in the scientific industry.

Your Responsibilities

  • Completing training in laboratory procedures and participating in routine microbiological and chemical testing.
  • Assisting with the maintenance of equipment, stock control, culture media, and quality control activities.
  • Working with the laboratory team to ensure standards and accreditation requirements are maintained.
  • Supporting the validation of new technologies, equipment, and test methods (e.g., QPCR).
  • Writing scientific reports, performing statistical analysis, and presenting findings to stakeholders.
  • Contributing to the development of laboratory test methods, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Assisting with planning and execution of assigned projects, ensuring timely completion.
  • Maintaining high standards of housekeeping, hygiene, and health & safety, including the proper use of PPE.

Your Profile

  • Currently studying for a degree in a scientific discipline (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or related field).
  • Practical experience of laboratory techniques gained through university coursework or projects.
  • Experience in data analysis, statistics, and scientific writing.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with precision and accuracy.
  • IT literate, with good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Curious and enthusiastic about probiotics and scientific innovation.
  • Analytical mindset with a natural problem-solving ability.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.
