We are now seeking an experienced EHS Manager to lead safety, health, and environmental performance at our Hereford facility. Our Hereford site plays a key role in producing a diverse range of innovative food and beverage solutions. These include flavour systems, powder blends, baked toppings and inclusions, and functional ingredient systems, supporting global foodservice, retail, and beverage customers. FDL’s broader portfolio spans syrups, sauces, fruit preparations, beverage concentrates, botanical extracts, and functional powders, all developed through strong R&D and collaboration with customers to create high-quality, great-tasting products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safety, Health & Environmental Leadership: Partner with the EHS Centre of Excellence to deploy ADM’s SHE strategy, driving a zero injury and incident culture. Lead capability development across the site, ensuring robust training, competence, and skills progression for employees and contractors. Design and deliver effective training programmes that embed a behaviour-based safety culture.
  • Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure full compliance with UK legislation and ADM standards through a hands-on, site-focused approach. Lead risk management activities with emphasis on Process Safety (e.g. DSEAR, fire safety compliance) and Life Critical Standards (e.g. permit-to-work systems). Support the development and implementation of Risk Assessments, Safe Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Equipment-specific Lock-Out Procedures (ESLPs). Act as the site’s Main Environmental Contact, ensuring environmental compliance. Oversee statutory inspections (e.g. lifting equipment, pressure systems, fall arrest). Maintain a strong field presence through regular audits, walkabouts, and engagement with teams.
  • Management Systems & Continuous Improvement: Lead and maintain SHE management systems, ensuring accurate data capture and reporting. Analyse trends and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Provide leadership in incident investigation, ensuring robust root cause analysis and timely close-out of actions.
