We are looking for a highly analytical Freight Analyst to join our Global Ocean Freight (GOF) team in Rolle, Switzerland. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support freight trading and chartering activities through data‑driven insights, market intelligence, and forecasting in a dynamic global shipping environment.
Reporting directly to the Freight Director, you will play a key role in strengthening ADM’s analytical capabilities, supporting informed decision‑making, and contributing to the continued development of our freight strategy.
Responsibilities- Conduct fundamental freight market analysis across vessel segments and trade lanes, monitoring key indices, supply‑demand balances, and macroeconomic drivers.
- Build and maintain data models, dashboards, and forecasting tools to deliver timely, actionable insights for trading and chartering decisions.
- Collaborate with freight traders and commercial teams to translate analytical findings into executable strategies and improved forecasting accuracy.
- Support scenario analysis, risk assessments, and strategic initiatives aligned with ADM’s commercial objectives.
- Promote data integrity and continuous improvement by developing and embedding analytical best practices across the Freight organization.
- Support ad‑hoc analysis and strategic projects as required.
- Contribute and help shape the long term strategy of the department.
- Strong understanding of dry bulk ocean freight markets, including key trade lanes, vessel segments, and freight indices.
- Proven experience in freight market analytics, including data modeling, forecasting, and quantitative analysis (Python experience a plus).
- Ability to interpret complex data sets and translate insights into clear, actionable recommendations.
- A proactive, curious mindset with strong problem‑solving and communication skills.
