Job Description ADM, Southport, NC Hourly Fermentation Operator III Working under the supervision of the Fermentation Departmental Superintendent, the full-time Operator IIIβs responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Add or mix chemicals and ingredients for processing, using hand tools or other devices. Clean and maintain equipment in a safe and orderly condition. Collect samples of materials or products for laboratory testing. Interpret laboratory data and make necessary adjustments to operate within established parameters. Dump or pour specified amounts of materials into machinery and equipment for processing. Examine materials, ingredients, or products visually to ensure conformance to standards. Observe production and monitor equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation. Operate chemical processing equipment, pumps, valves, agitators, pressure vessels, etc., safely and efficiently. Read work orders, SOPs, directions, and guidelines to determine production specifications. Calculate chemical amounts for making up tanks using basic mathematics. Transfer materials, supplies, and products between work areas using moving equipment and hand tools as needed. Follow ADM and OSHA safety regulations, GMPs, and QA standards in all duties. Knowledge, skills, and abilities required include: Ability to read, write, and schedule. Computer literacy, including keyboarding and mouse use. Ability to work a 12-hour rotating shift schedule. Teamwork skills. Forklift operation ability. Ability to work at heights. Ability to lift 50 lbs. Experience in an industrial environment is a plus. Minimum qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Satisfactory completion of a pre-employment drug test and background check.
