Working under the supervision of the Fermentation Departmental Superintendent, the full-time Operator III’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Add or mix chemicals and ingredients for processing, using hand tools or other devices.
  • Clean and maintain equipment in a safe and orderly condition.
  • Collect samples of materials or products for laboratory testing.
  • Interpret laboratory data and make necessary adjustments to operate within established parameters.
  • Dump or pour specified amounts of materials into machinery and equipment for processing.
  • Examine materials, ingredients, or products visually to ensure conformance to standards.
  • Observe production and monitor equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Operate chemical processing equipment, pumps, valves, agitators, pressure vessels, etc., safely and efficiently.
  • Read work orders, SOPs, directions, and guidelines to determine production specifications.
  • Calculate chemical amounts for making up tanks using basic mathematics.
  • Transfer materials, supplies, and products between work areas using moving equipment and hand tools as needed.
  • Follow ADM and OSHA safety regulations, GMPs, and QA standards in all duties.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities required include:

  • Ability to read, write, and schedule.
  • Computer literacy, including keyboarding and mouse use.
  • Ability to work a 12-hour rotating shift schedule.
  • Teamwork skills.
  • Forklift operation ability.
  • Ability to work at heights.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Experience in an industrial environment is a plus.

Minimum qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Satisfactory completion of a pre-employment drug test and background check.
