Junior Technical Account Manager
We now have an opportunity for a Junior Technical Account Manager to provide support for the Technical Department, working with current Technical Account Managers (TAM), Research and Development (R&D) and Technical Customer Support (TCS).
Job Description
The position works alongside the commercial team and production plants in Purfleet and Erith, investigating the role of oils and fats in a wide variety of primarily food areas such as frying, bakery, margarines and spreads, whilst seeking to expand and increase our knowledge into further segments and applications.
Helping to ensure the timely, accurate and professional exchange of information and samples will be a major part of the role.
- Your Responsibilities
- Working closely with TAM and R&D to further increase your own knowledge of oils and fats – covering such topics as recipe reformulation, crystallisation, and the role and functionality of the fat across a wide range of applications.
- Manage and assist to ensure the professional supply of oil samples to customers.
This will involve liaising with various departments internally to ensure a timely and quality delivery of product to the customer.
- Be involved in functionality testing trials, particularly for baking and frying work.
- Understand and comprehend the role of a TAM, develop to cover and help where necessary with the aim to develop customer contacts.
- Gain practical understanding of process capabilities and product attributes by participation in projects.
- Participate in relevant training programmes and courses where required.
- Participation in improvement activities.
- Support complaint resolution and communication internally and externally.
- Perform other non-specified duties as required.
Your Profile
- Degree level or equivalent educated in food science or a science-based subject is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of the food industry and oils and fats would be desirable.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Ability to work effectively with and gain the co‑operation of colleagues at all levels within the business.
- Ability to work confidently and effectively with customers including face‑to‑face meetings.
- Strong desire for self‑improvement and personal development.
- Good knowledge of Word & Excel.
- Team player, high dedication and self‑motivation.
- A valid UK driving licence would be of assistance to the successful candidate.
