We are seeking an experienced food and beverage EHS Manager to support and drive Safety, Health & Environmental (SHE) excellence at our Little Walden site. This is a highly visible, hands-on role where you will work closely with operations and leadership teams to embed a proactive safety culture and ensure full compliance with UK legislation and ADM standards. This role will also cover 1 day a week at a site in Kent for maternity leave.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with the EHS Centre of Excellence (CoE) to deploy ADM’s SHE strategy with a goal of zero harm
- Drive behavioural safety culture through effective training and engagement initiatives
- Identify training needs and develop structured learning pathways across disciplines
- Deliver SHE training programs for employees and contractors
- Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with UK regulations and ADM standards across all departments
- Lead risk management activities including DSEAR and fire safety compliance and Permit to Work systems and Life Critical Standards
- Support development and review of Risk Assessments, Safe Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Equipment-specific Lock Out procedures (ESLPs)
- Coordinate statutory inspections (e.g. lifting equipment, pressure systems, fall arrest)
- Conduct regular site audits, inspections, and field-based safety interactions
- Maintain and improve SHE management systems and reporting tools
- Analyse data to identify trends and drive continuous improvement
- Support incident investigations using root cause analysis methodologies
- Ensure timely implementation of corrective actions
- Communication & Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with the UK Area H&S Manager and site leadership teams
- Provide expert SHE advice across the site
- Build strong relationships with Internal ADM sites and EHS networks, as well as External bodies (e.g. HSE, Environment Agency, emergency services)
Qualifications & Experience
- Recognised Health & Safety qualification (e.g. NEBOSH)
- Degree in Health & Safety, Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing or production environment
- Strong knowledge of Risk assessments, method statements, and permit systems, Mechanical & Electrical processes and Combustible dust hazards and hazardous area classification
- Experience in auditing and compliance systems
