Job Description
The Associate Director, Regulatory Scientific Affairs in EMEA is responsible for leading technical regulatory expertise for the Ag Services & Oilseeds (AS&O) division, providing regulatory knowledge, leadership, and strategic direction across the EMEA region. The scope includes Edible & Specialty Oils, Flours & Grains, and Lecithin.
Main Responsibilities include:
- Providing regulatory leadership for the business, including monitoring, interpreting, implementing, and communicating EMEA food and chemical regulations.
- Managing requests related to the human food portfolio and providing expertise for non-food uses such as industrial, feed, and packaging.
- Supporting recall situations and ensuring regulatory compliance of products and marketing tools.
- Maintaining regulatory databases and liaising with global regulatory networks.
- Advising on product labelling, SDS, MRLs, and regulatory statements.
- Responding to regulatory inquiries and contributing to corporate regulatory groups.
- Engaging with external regulatory bodies and trade associations.
- Proactively anticipating regulatory changes impacting the business.
Skills & Abilities
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in business-relevant software such as SAP and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent command of English and ability to relate regulatory topics to non-regulatory audiences.
- Strategic thinking, attention to detail, and a positive attitude.
Education & Experience
- Regulatory experience in regional/global strategy.
- Experience in related functional areas like Quality, R&D, Operations, or Marketing is desirable.
- Leadership experience, preferably cross-functional.
- Experience in vegetable oil business is highly desirable.
