We are seeking an experienced technical accounting professional to support the Group Reporting function in implementing new UK GAAP accounting standards effective from 1 January 2026, with a primary focus on revenue recognition. The role will play a key part in ensuring consistent, compliant, and high-quality application of new standards across the group. Working closely with Group Reporting, Audit, and Finance Transformation teams, you will provide technical expertise, practical guidance, and support the successful delivery of accounting change. This is a hybrid role, with an expectation to attend our Farringdon office 2–3 days per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the assessment and implementation of new UK GAAP revenue standards across the group
- Review and interpret technical accounting requirements, translating them into clear, practical guidance for regional finance teams
- Prepare and support technical accounting papers and documentation for audit and internal stakeholders
- Collaborate with the Group Reporting Manager, Audit Team Lead, and Finance Transformation Manager to ensure alignment with group reporting processes
- Assist in developing and updating accounting policies, procedures, and controls in line with UK GAAP and group standards
- Provide technical support on other accounting areas, including leases, purchase price accounting (PPA), and revenue-related disclosures
- Coordinate with external auditors and advisors to agree technical positions and support smooth audit outcomes
- Deliver training sessions and knowledge-sharing workshops for finance teams on new standards and technical topics
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP, particularly revenue recognition
- Proven experience in group reporting and/or technical accounting roles
- Ability to interpret and apply complex accounting standards in a practical business context
- Experience preparing technical accounting papers and working closely with auditors
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-specialist audiences
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience supporting revenue implementation projects or accounting change initiatives
- Exposure to additional technical areas such as leases, PPA, and consolidation
- Experience within a multinational or group environment
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and deliver to tight deadlines
