Are you passionate about using technology for social good? I’m helping a mission-driven AI start-up find a Junior/Mid Full-Stack Software Engineer, coming with perhaps a couple of years commercial experience with C# .Net & React.js, along with exposure to Azure. They’re tackling one of the most urgent challenges of the digital age: identifying and mitigating online harms.
The technical skills you’ll need:
- C# .Net experience in an environment using Azure.
- Good use of React.js (or other modern JS libraries, but they use React.js).
- Ideally exposure to event-based service-oriented architectures.
- Any use of Python & Azure DevOps would be a bonus.
The right person will…
- Be down-to-earth, easy to get on with.
- Be keen to explore unfamiliar tech when needed.
- Value collaborative development and not just be a ‘coder’.
- Communicate clearly, work well in a team and not be afraid to take initiative.
- Be eager to learn and continuously improve their skills and processes.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- As a Full-Stack Software Engineer, you’ll work across the product lifecycle, from idea to deployment, contributing to both greenfield projects and the evolution of their core platform.
- You’ll also help design, build and maintain full-stack applications that help detect and counter online harms.
- Help create intuitive and accessible user interfaces using modern front-end frameworks.
- Help develop efficient, secure and reliable backend systems that interface with APIs and databases.
- Gain exposure to collaboration with stakeholders to understand user needs and shape product direction.
- Document your work, contribute to best practices and support a progressive engineering culture.
- You’ll also participate in a structured development process that includes collaborative in-person workshops every six weeks.
What you’ll get in return for your skills:
As well as a salary of up to £35K DOE, 28 days holiday + bank holidays + BUPA medical, you’ll also be part of a mission-lead start-up within an innovative environment, experienced leadership guiding you, a collaborative culture in a small but established and technical team, mostly working from home with a trip to Cardiff a couple of times a month and plenty of career growth too.
What’s next?
If you’re excited about using technology to solve meaningful problems, want to be part of a small and focused team building the future of online safety, I’d love to hear from you! Send your CV today!
