We're delighted to be supporting a very well-established eCommerce and technology services business within the music and entertainment sectors. They have a formidable, international client base and a values-driven and supportive company culture that is second to none. Due to exciting company growth, they are looking for a talented Support Engineer to join the team.
What skills you'll be needing:
- 1-2 years of providing technical support for websites in either a hosting provider or digital agency environment.
- Awareness of common web security risks, secure configuration, access control and patch management.
- Strong understanding of web technologies, including HTTP, SSL, DNS, and general website performance concepts.
- Some basic tech skills across some of: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, WordPress.
- Experience with database management and SQL.
- Understanding of responsive design principles and cross-browser compatibility.
- Working knowledge of Git for version control.
- Experience using ticketing systems (e.g. Zendesk, Jira or similar).
What you'll be doing:
The Support Engineer role is primarily to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of client platforms, websites and supporting infrastructure. You'll help maintain platforms through routine checks, updates, documentation, and coordination of fixes. You will diagnose, resolve and document technical issues across CMS (mostly WordPress, Shopify), ecommerce, hosting and web technology environments, while helping ensure client platforms remain secure, stable and well maintained. You will also help to support with integrations, deployments, monitoring, HTTP, DNS, SSL, caching, redirects, performance and ongoing platform maintenance.
There will be opportunities to assist with quality assurance and testing activities, testing bug fixes, new features etc and maintaining accurate records, ticket queues and reporting. The role combines technical troubleshooting, customising and enhancing existing sites (HTML, CSS, JS, PHP), client communication and proactive problem solving, working closely with internal teams to deliver reliable support, maintain platform performance and contribute to continuous improvement.
