Technical leadership, hands-on. Fast-growing Climate Tech startup. React, Node, TypeScript, product development.

We’re looking for a Technical Lead/Lead Full-Stack Engineer with React, Typescript skills to join one of the region’s most exciting Climate Tech companies. They’ve built a platform which helps to drive the transition away from fossil fuel heating in people’s homes and are now looking to add to their team. They’re helping to seriously reduce carbon emissions whilst also helping to lower homeowner energy bills. Now is a great time to join their 10 strong development team as they look to double in size in 2026 and diversify following further investment and securing 500 clients in less than 2 years.

2 days per week at their office in central Bristol.

What skills you’ll be needing:

  • Leadership experience.
  • React, Node and Typescript.
  • Relational database design and SQL.
  • REST APIs.
  • Any of the following would be very desirable: Postgres, Tailwind, Docker.
  • Strong product focus, understanding problems and talking to customers directly.

What you’ll be doing:

This is an all-encompassing role covering hands-on coding, team and technical leadership with a strong contribution to product strategy. You will own architecture and technical strategy for a key part of their product base whilst showing direction, raising standards and getting the best out of the highly motivated, best-in-class engineers around you. They have a variety of applications, integrations with hardware and monitoring systems, data collection and processing apps and there will be plenty of opportunities to speak directly to customers and utilise your problem solving skills. They will look to you to proactively identify bottlenecks and scaling risks, driving solutions around technical debt. You will have exceptional people skills and the ability to show engineers how to arrive at solutions themselves, improve processes and champion collaboration as they grow.
