This is an exciting opportunity to join an innovative, award-winning London-based Material Science company. They are leaders within their field and are entering an exciting phase of scale-up and commercialisation. Due to the natural growth of the business, they are looking for a Process Development Engineer to join the team.

What you’ll be doing?

  • Developing and scaling chemical processes from lab to commercial scale.
  • Designing and optimising processes to improve safety, performance, and sustainability.
  • Leading experimental planning, process optimisation, and scale-up strategies.
  • Translating lab research into commercially viable operations.
  • Specifying, procuring, and commissioning process equipment up to pilot scale.
  • Collaborating with engineering partners to deliver fit-for-purpose solutions.
  • Driving innovation through new technologies and digital tools.
  • Ensuring safety, compliance, and risk management across all projects.

What they are looking for?

  • Degree in Chemical Engineering (BEng/MEng/PhD).
  • 5+ years’ experience in process development and scale-up.
  • Proven track record in lab-to-production transitions and equipment commissioning.
  • Strong skills in process simulation (Aspen Plus or equivalent).
  • Expertise in technoeconomic evaluation and core unit operations.
  • Flexible and adaptable across diverse projects and scales.
  • Excellent communicator with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and process hazard analysis.
