This is an exciting opportunity to join an innovative, award-winning London-based Material Science company. They are leaders within their field and are entering an exciting phase of scale-up and commercialisation. Due to the natural growth of the business, they are looking for a Process Development Engineer to join the team.
What you’ll be doing?
- Developing and scaling chemical processes from lab to commercial scale.
- Designing and optimising processes to improve safety, performance, and sustainability.
- Leading experimental planning, process optimisation, and scale-up strategies.
- Translating lab research into commercially viable operations.
- Specifying, procuring, and commissioning process equipment up to pilot scale.
- Collaborating with engineering partners to deliver fit-for-purpose solutions.
- Driving innovation through new technologies and digital tools.
- Ensuring safety, compliance, and risk management across all projects.
What they are looking for?
- Degree in Chemical Engineering (BEng/MEng/PhD).
- 5+ years’ experience in process development and scale-up.
- Proven track record in lab-to-production transitions and equipment commissioning.
- Strong skills in process simulation (Aspen Plus or equivalent).
- Expertise in technoeconomic evaluation and core unit operations.
- Flexible and adaptable across diverse projects and scales.
- Excellent communicator with strong problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and process hazard analysis.
