Own data quality end to end while shaping a modern data platform. Focus on data quality and governance, more than just pipelines. Remote first with monthly trips to the office closest to you. Real opportunity to grow and get involved in more projects and a transformation project.

We’re working with a large, complex organisation going through a major data transformation. They’re looking for a Data Engineer to take ownership of data quality across key systems, making sure the data going in is right and the data coming out can be trusted.

What you’ll be doing:

  • You’d sit within a central data team working on a modern Microsoft stack (predominantly with Fabric), with strong backing and clear direction.
  • Working alongside the Head of Data Transformation, you’ll be involved in creating, owning and improving how data is captured and used across the business.
  • You’ll get involved in building data products, working with streaming data, and using tools like Microsoft Fabric, KQL and SQL to deliver scalable solutions.
  • You’ll work with SQL and PySpark to monitor, validate and improve incoming data, setting up control tables and checks that flag issues early.
  • You’ll dig into problems at source, understand why they’re happening, and work with teams across the business to fix them.
  • A big part of the role is stakeholder engagement. You’ll speak to operational teams, understand how data is entered into systems, and challenge where needed to improve standards.
  • You’ll translate technical issues into clear business impact, helping teams see why data and quality matter.

What experience you’ll need to apply:

  • Background working as a Data Engineer (ideally with Fabric, KQL & SQL).
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric or Azure.
  • Strong SQL skills with experience writing complex queries.
  • Experience using Python, ideally with PySpark.
  • Proven experience improving or monitoring data quality.
  • Experience building or supporting ETL or ELT pipelines.
  • Comfortable working with stakeholders across the business.
  • Confident communicator who can challenge and influence.

What you’ll get in return for your experience:

They’re offering a salary of up to £50,000. It’s a remote first setup, with monthly trips to the office closest to you, whether that’s South West, Midlands or South East. You’ll be joining a supportive team with a clear roadmap and the chance to shape how data quality is handled across the organisation. There’s real scope to grow, working with modern tools and large-scale data. You’ll also benefit from a strong focus on development and the chance to work on meaningful data challenges that impact the whole business.
