Responsibilities
- Work independently and in teams across Wastewater and Water Treatment Works, supporting various infrastructure projects.
- Carry out tasks such as sewer cleans, wet well maintenance, siphon works, and other wastewater asset operations.
- Follow all health and safety requirements, including RAMS documentation, with full responsibility for compliance.
- Undertake manual handling duties, including carrying suction hoses and removing debris.
- Operate company vehicles (HGV/ADR where qualified), ensuring all checks are completed and regulations followed.
- Maintain vehicles, equipment, and PPE to required standards, reporting defects promptly.
- Participate in the on-call rota, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays, on a fair rotational basis.
- Liaise with customers on site to provide updates and discuss ongoing works.
- Complete all required paperwork accurately and on time, including vehicle checks, job tickets, and timesheets.
- Undertake all relevant training for the role, such as CSCS and Confined Space certification.
Qualifications
- Must possess a relative licence categories (clean & valid) to operate and control HGVs and vans.
- Valid CPC card.
- Willingness to undertake any additional training to increase capability of the division in supplying a service to customers.
- A knowledge of the waste water industry is desirable.
- At least 2 years driving experience of a HGV is preferable.
- Flexibility towards hours and understanding of the reactive nature to the utilities industry.
- Ability to be a team player with a flexible approach to work at night/weekend work if necessary.
- Ability to work under pressure and use their own initiative.
- Comfortable working with raw sewage.
- Full clean UK driving licence.
- Proof of Right to work in the UK.
