Tank Lining Operative in Droitwich, Permanent, full-time, Competitive salary plus benefits.

Operating anywhere in the UK & Ireland, the Tank Lining Operative will be required to operate as part of a team, working alongside other Technicians, fulfilling works for major oil companies & independent customers. The core works will include:

  • Preparation of removing pipework and man lids to enable core works.
  • Entering above or below ground tanks using the “confined space” method for cleaning and lining.
  • Contributing to the operation of numerous departments within the division, including Tank & Line Lining, Testing, De Watering of fuel tanks, and forecourt maintenance.
  • Identifying root causes of problems and providing customers with long-term solutions.

The duties of this post include a high degree of manual work.

More about the role:

  • Work as part of a 4–5 person team to safely deliver fuel tank relining projects at petrol forecourt sites, in line with company procedures and industry standards.
  • Carry out confined space entries in accordance with safety regulations, including completion of required permits, atmospheric monitoring, and adherence to site-specific risk assessments.
  • Undertake tank cleaning and degassing activities to prepare tanks for internal works.
  • Complete surface preparation tasks, including grit blasting and associated prep work, ensuring tanks are ready for lining application.
  • Assist with and carry out the application of the Adler & Allan patented relining system, including the use of specialist resins and laminates.
  • Respond to reactive or emergency works and support the team during critical call-outs when required.
  • Take on lead operative or supervisor responsibilities when required, including attending site briefings, representing the company on site, and coordinating team activities.
  • Maintain clear and professional communication with site representatives and customers regarding ongoing works and any additional service requirements.
  • Ensure all tools, equipment, PPE, and vehicles are maintained in a clean, serviceable, and compliant condition; report any defects or damage promptly.
  • Complete all job documentation accurately and in a timely manner, including permits, reports, and submission of paperwork to supervision.
  • Actively contribute to a strong health and safety culture by reporting near misses, hazards, and incidents in line with company procedures.
  • Liaise with supervision to provide updates on progress, highlight issues, and suggest improvements or opportunities for operational efficiency.
  • Carry out any other duties within the individual’s competence and training, as required by the business.

Qualifications About you:

  • Must possess a clean UK driving licence, categories to operate Company vehicles up to 3.5 tonne.
  • Working on and around Petrol Forecourts desirable.
  • Right to Work in UK.
  • Previous knowledge and experience of completing RAMS documentation (advantageous).
  • Willingness to undertake any additional training to increase capability of the division in supplying a service to customers.
