The NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) Inspector is required to undertake testing using non-destructive and non-intrusive methodology for tank and pipe inspections using various equipment in a variety of environments. The NDT Technician will be expected to collect data via external surface testing whilst tanks/pipes are in situ and using data collected, create and provide reports presenting analysis from data gathered. The NDT Technician will be expected to make recommendations in the event of a problem being identified and providing proposals for resolution is a key responsibility of the NDT Technician.

More about the role:

  • Executing tests using procedures and methodology to determine condition and status of a tank, pipeline or similar and determine the lifeline and quality of the product.
  • All duties associated with the inspection of tanks/pipeline or similar including organizing and generating reports relating to inspection and evaluation; preparing and delivering all reports relating to the subject matter with recommendations for repair, replacement or other resolutory path.
  • Ensuring all equipment used for testing is fully functioning and serviceable to maximum output and in strict accordance with manufacturers' guidelines and relevant safety regulations.
  • It is the postholder's responsibility to identify and arrange repairs and servicing when necessary.
  • Prioritizing works in order of efficiencies and satisfying customer demand.
  • Prepare proposals, quotes and sales contracts to be delivered to internal and external parties.
  • Establish, develop and maintain current client and potential client relationships; ensure such contact is periodically refreshed by way of regular communication.
  • Communicate new product and service opportunities, special developments, information, or feedback gathered through sales force activity to appropriate company staff.
  • Prepare accurate and concise paperwork to activate and maintain contract services.
  • Awareness of ISO/IEC17020 standard for various types of inspection and activity.

Qualifications About you:

  • Knowledge of all NDT Disciplines and NDT Standards.
  • Qualifications to PCN UT Level 2 (PAUT would be an advantage), Eddy Current or ACFM Level 2, MPT Level 2 and Dye Penetrant testing Level 2.
  • Experience in Magnetic Flux Leakage tank floor scanning equipment by Eddyfi including the Floormap 3Di/R.
  • Inspection personnel shall have a good engineering knowledge.
  • A comprehensive understanding of the tank design and construction process.
  • A general knowledge of the dangerous goods regulations.
  • Previous knowledge and experience of completing RAMS documentation (advantageous).
  • Willingness to undertake any additional training to increase capability of the division in supplying a service to customers.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel for inspection reports.
  • Knowledge of CAD software.
