We're looking for an organized and detail-oriented Stores Person to join our team in Nelson, United Kingdom. In this role, you'll be the backbone of our operations, managing the flow of stock through our stores with precision and care. You'll take ownership of inventory control, ensure accurate record-keeping, and maintain a safe, compliant storage environment.   • Manage and monitor stock levels, ensuring accurate inventory control and timely reordering based on organizational needs.
  • Receive, inspect, and document all incoming deliveries, verifying quantities and checking for damages or discrepancies.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive stock records using inventory management software and systems, ensuring all data is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Conduct regular and planned stock checks, analyzing results and providing detailed reports to management with recommendations for improvements.
  • Store all equipment, materials, and stock in a safe, organized, and compliant manner, adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Issue equipment and materials to authorized personnel, maintaining accurate audit trails and tracking usage patterns to identify trends.
  • Identify and report any risks, damages, or compliance issues within the stores area immediately, proposing practical solutions with cost estimations.
  • Collaborate with team members and field-based staff to manage equipment requests, balancing organizational needs with efficient resource allocation.
  • Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe stores environment, conducting regular inspections and implementing improvements.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring all policies and procedures comply with relevant legislation and regulatory requirements.
  • Handle personal and organizational data with confidentiality and transparency.
  • Perform additional duties as required to support business operations and organizational goals.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience in inventory management and stock control.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage stock levels accurately and efficiently.
  • Experience receiving, checking, and processing deliveries.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with inventory management software and computer systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Physical capability to safely handle and move materials and equipment.
  • Knowledge of health and safety compliance and safe handling procedures.
  • Problem-solving ability and analytic mindset.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in warehouse, stores, or logistics operations.
  • Full clean driving license.

  • Experience managing requisitions and controlling equipment requests.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance requirements and audit procedures.
