Head of Tendering and Pre Construction

Senior Director – Full‑time – London, England, United Kingdom – Salary: £120,000 – £140,000

Responsibilities

  • Support the team with the scope of new project enquiries
  • Drive business development initiatives to facilitate sustainable revenue growth
  • Provide clear direction, guidance and set expectations for the relevant individuals and wider estimating team
  • Support the Managing Director in defining target markets, identifying and qualifying new business opportunities
  • Ensure existing leads and outstanding tenders are followed up by the Bid Team and act as support if/when required to make adjustments to win new projects
  • Ensure the output of new tenders is managed in a timely manner
  • Ensure the timely handover of won projects to the Pre‑Construction teams
  • Act as a contact with customers to handle all escalated issues relating to pre‑construction and receive feedback on our performance
  • Ensure handovers from the Pre‑Construction team to the Construction teams are completed on time and in line with client expectations
  • Provide technical support to Pre‑Construction team and others who may require
  • Deliver supportive business communication through advice, review, leadership and direct contribution to management team meetings, briefing and correspondence
  • Identify and implement performance improvement processes
  • Monthly and ad‑hoc reporting on your business functions
  • Forecast project delivery timescales to support operational delivery planning

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a senior tendering/preconstruction role
  • Strong commercial acumen and understanding of contract types and procurement routes
