About the role:- Attending and investigating water pollution incidents across Greater London/Thames Valley region.
- Undertaking field monitoring works including water quality measurements and sampling.
- Technical report writing in response to water pollution incidents.
- Provision of accurate and timely information to line management.
- Supporting team performance by sharing knowledge and best practices at all levels.
- Any other duties for which the post holder is qualified and able to carry out.
- Degree in a Biological or Environmental Sciences discipline.
- Understanding of water chemistry and the indicative parameters.
- A full clean UK driving licence.
- Experience in scientific fieldwork, and an enthusiasm for working outdoors in all weathers.
- Competent user of Microsoft Outlook, Excel & Word.
- Analytical and numerical skills with the ability to pay close attention to detail.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team following precise protocols.
- Motivated, friendly and confident interacting with clients.
- Understanding of the role of regulators such as the Environment Agency (desirable).
- Laboratory analysis in environmental monitoring, and environmental compliance (desirable).
