Contract: 6 Month Fixed Term Contract (35 hours per week)

Working Hours: 07:00 to 15:00 and 13:00 to 21:00

About the role:
  • Attending and investigating water pollution incidents across Greater London/Thames Valley region.
  • Undertaking field monitoring works including water quality measurements and sampling.
  • Technical report writing in response to water pollution incidents.
  • Provision of accurate and timely information to line management.
  • Supporting team performance by sharing knowledge and best practices at all levels.
  • Any other duties for which the post holder is qualified and able to carry out.
About you:
  • Degree in a Biological or Environmental Sciences discipline.
  • Understanding of water chemistry and the indicative parameters.
  • A full clean UK driving licence.
  • Experience in scientific fieldwork, and an enthusiasm for working outdoors in all weathers.
  • Competent user of Microsoft Outlook, Excel & Word.
  • Analytical and numerical skills with the ability to pay close attention to detail.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team following precise protocols.
  • Motivated, friendly and confident interacting with clients.
  • Understanding of the role of regulators such as the Environment Agency (desirable).
  • Laboratory analysis in environmental monitoring, and environmental compliance (desirable).
