The Project Engineer will take on a key technical delivery role within the engineering team, responsible for managing multiple electrical and instrumentation projects. This position exists to absorb much of the current Engineering Manager’s project workload, with full focus on the technical and client-facing aspects rather than team management. The Project Engineer will play a hands-on role across the full project lifecycle, from site survey, scoping, and specification through to system integration, testing, and delivery. They will act as the technical link between Flotech’s design, commercial, and project delivery functions, ensuring that client requirements are clearly understood, engineered correctly, and delivered to the highest standard.
More about the role:
- Conduct site visits to assess existing client installations, diagnose issues, and gather technical requirements.
- Develop project scopes, specifications, and proposals for system upgrades, modifications, or full replacements.
- Lead the technical delivery of multiple concurrent projects, ensuring compliance with engineering standards and on-time completion.
- Liaise closely with Flotech’s internal Electrical Design Engineers to review drawings, schematics, and design documentation.
- Coordinate with external hydraulic consultants for specialist design elements.
- Review and contribute to HAZOP documentation, interfacing with third-party design approval bodies.
- Ensure all electrical and instrumentation systems meet applicable certification and compliance requirements (including CompEx and ATEX where applicable).
- Support the commercial and sales teams by identifying technical requirements and preparing accurate costings and proposals.
- Maintain strong communication with clients throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring technical clarity and satisfaction.
- Oversee build, integration, and testing phases, ensuring project documentation and quality records are fully maintained.
- Report project status, progress, and risks to senior stakeholders.
