Job Description

Responsibilities

The role will be based in Aqua Consultants’ Offices, supporting the Estimating & Cost Intelligence Team in the delivery of key frameworks and key projects.

It will involve liaising with both clients and contractors on a daily basis, to enable effective management of the projects.

Core Duties

  • Estimating at various levels depending on the project stage, high-level using cost models or similar, bottom-up estimating using CESMM or similar.
  • Preparation of estimates for optioneering purposes, providing CAPEX OPEX, NPV for options for comparison
  • Undertake project benchmarking and development of Cost Envelope for a project in the early stages of a project
  • Provide Cost Assurance exercise on project estimates and contractor submissions.
  • Collecting historical project cost data in a standardised approach for analysis
  • Supporting the development of cost models for future estimates.
  • Attend meetings and undertake site visits where necessary
  • Client facing and confident in participation meetings.
  • Working across multiple projects for their clients.
  • Ability to work with various estimating systems.

Authority

The Estimator will be expected to be a self-starter in relation to day-to-day tasks, however final issue of costings and reports shall not be issued without the approval and support of their line manager/direct line report.

  • It is expected that the Estimator will liaise with Clients and Contractors on a regular basis to ensure the timely communication and completion of the exercise.
  • Where appropriate, the need may arise to interface with third party stakeholders; in which case it should be remembered that the Estimator is an ambassador for the Aqua brand and shall be professional in all conduct.
  • Regular contact with all internal staff is expected with a focus on open communication.
