We are currently seeking highly skilled and experienced Gangers to join our exceptional team across Devon & Cornwall, based out of our Exeter depot. This is your chance to become an integral part of our dynamic and reactive team, working on a well-established repair and maintenance wastewater contract for our key clients.
We are in search of dedicated individuals with a strong work ethic to join our esteemed civils team. As a member of this team, you will be entrusted with the important task of executing drainage repairs and installations to the highest standards. In the role of Ganger, you will assume a pivotal leadership position, ensuring the seamless execution and timely completion of projects. Your role will involve not only completing daily safety documents, inspections, and records with precision but also guiding and supervising the operatives working alongside you. Your expertise and attention to detail will be paramount in maintaining our commitment to excellence.
About you:
- Strong background in utility work, particularly sewer repairs and maintenance, including experience in manhole and chamber construction, benching, butt fusion welding, and pipe laying.
- Proficiency in excavations, both manual and machine-assisted, including deep excavations. Qualifications in operating excavators under 10T are desirable.
- Experience in street works and highway excavations, along with the relevant qualifications.
- Knowledge and certification in manual handling, abrasive wheels, and the use of Cat & Genny.
- Minimum requirement of a CSCS operatives' card, and ideally SSSTS certification.
- While not essential, the following qualifications and experience would be highly desirable:
- Experience and qualifications in confined space entry.
- Experience in managing work and handling communication with interested parties, such as customers, clients, or other organisations.
- Experience and qualification in operating excavators over 10T.
- Experience and qualification in operating a wheeled dumper.
The ideal candidate will possess an up-to-date CPC driver card, and while experience in high-pressure water jetting or tankering would be advantageous, we provide comprehensive training to ensure your success in the role. Holding qualifications such as PTS (City & Guilds) Confined Space Entry, NRSWA (Street works), and a valid CSCS card would also be highly beneficial.
