Due to ongoing successful contracts and as we continue to expand, we’re seeking a dynamic experienced Estimator to join our team.

Job Description

  • Scoping & pricing our infrastructure works, mainly in Drinking Water work‑stream but also some Waste Water work‑stream projects, that we undertake across the Southwest for our top clients including South West Water & Wessex Water, on framework contracts.
  • Play a pivotal role in our pre‑construction works, as part of the team building all of the required documentation, to ensure success with our submissions and of the projects that we are successful in winning.
  • Estimating and developing multiple projects within your portfolio, focused mainly on using framework rates, first principle pricing, agreement pre‑ambles and NEC 4 contract guidelines, to drive workload and performance.
  • Ensuring all pre‑construction requirements are met in full, including CDM & Client required contract documentation.
  • Working closely with our experienced team, you’ll play a vital role in scoping and estimating projects, ensuring competitive and meticulously calculated quotations for repairs, and leveraging both established contract rates and fundamental principles.
  • Engaging with established and prospective clients, you’ll adeptly handle their needs, ensuring satisfaction while contributing to the company’s growth trajectory.
  • Assist in the intake of job/pricing requests, gathering necessary details, and inputting them into our management systems to streamline operations.
  • Contribute to maintaining and updating our systems to facilitate the seamless execution of day‑to‑day tasks for the entire team.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in using various computer systems and software, particularly Microsoft Office & Excel, is crucial.
  • Ability to engage with client’s and their systems for data entry and analysis, facilitating ongoing work audits and future project pricing.
  • Prior experience in utilities, specifically water or sewage, is a must. Previous work within the Water Utility Industry, particularly in the public and private sewer network, is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrate a proactive and self‑motivated approach to work, capable of both independent tasks and effective teamwork.
  • Thrive in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment, contributing to achieving key contract Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Familiarity with NEC contracts and other forms of contract would be desirable.
  • A proactive and dynamic work ethic, able to work as a team or on one's own and as such be able to self‑motivate or motivate others, to achieve various outcomes, often with tight deadlines.
  • Experience of the civil engineering and drainage sector is a must, while happy to be part of a team open to embracing innovation, and challenging conventional boundaries by revolutionising the industry with new ideas.
