Due to ongoing successful contracts and as we continue to expand, we’re seeking a dynamic and proactive Senior Project Manager to lead our delivery of a major programme of clean water infrastructure works for South West Water. Working from any of our South West Based Depots, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in leading and managing a programme of Water Mains Rehabilitation and Renewals across the South West.

You’ll be leading and developing multiple projects within your portfolio, focused on coordination, visibility and performance — ensuring delivery remains on track, stakeholders stay aligned and the programme runs efficiently.

More about the role:
  • Overseeing programme and project delivery, ensuring delivery targets are realised whilst ensuring the highest standards of health and safety are met on site.
  • Undertake site visits and attend kick off meetings, monitoring programme and outputs, providing regular updates and reports.
  • Working closely with delivery teams to monitor progress and identify risks or issues.
  • Administer NEC4 contract including Early Warning Notifications (EWNs) and compensation events (NCEs), ensuring they are appropriately escalated, actioned and monitored.
  • Contribute technical expertise to the Pre-construction / Construction Team to assist in planning and tenders and site methodologies.
  • Coordination between client, commercial and site teams.
  • Ensure prompt and timely responses to project KPI’s/SLA’s & Maintain strong communication with clients to provide updates and resolve issues promptly.
  • Develop supply chain resource and manage subcontractor performance.
  • Manage and develop internal resource teams.
  • Leading on client reporting, providing clear and accurate performance updates.
  • Running and coordinating progress meetings.
  • Supporting target setting and driving performance across the programme.
  • Ensuring clear communication and effective stakeholder engagement at all levels.
QualificationsAbout you:
  • Technical knowledge of industry standards, civil engineering principles and relevant legal regulations.
  • Knowledge of NEC4 contracts.
  • Strong stakeholder management and the ability to operate in a client-facing role are essential, along with excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Experience in reporting, running meetings and presenting performance data is important, as is the ability to maintain momentum across a fast-paced programme.
  • Additionally a proactive approach, commercial awareness and the ability to bring structure and clarity to complex delivery environments will set you up for success in this role.
