The predicted salary is between 30000 - 40000 £ per year.
Undertaking specialist cleaning and maintenance on a variety of water industry assets to ensure their operation remains effective for our clients. Working environments will include at height or within a confined space.
Hours of work: The post holder is contracted to work a 40-hour week, basic hours being 07:30am until 16:00 Monday to Friday. In addition, there is a requirement to be able to satisfy overtime requirements plus the postholder will be required to participate in a Standby / Call out rota, and stay away from home on occasion.
Key tasks and responsibilities:
- Operating specialist plant and equipment to facilitate completion of complex maintenance tasks.
- Working in teams and on your own on various Wastewater/Water Treatment Works and associated infrastructure throughout various water authorities and associated companies.
- Complete work efficiently and on time to be able to complete complex work in challenging environments whilst following all codes of practice/ RAMS.
- Works to be carried out in accordance with health and safety to include provided RAMS documentation. The postholder holds full responsibility for reading and signing such documentation.
- Manual Handling; installation and removal of hose and pipework, confined space working.
- Working on various Large Tanks, Wet Wells, Siphons and other Wastewater assets when required.
- Operating Company vehicles including HGV & ADR class vehicles or any other vehicle for which the postholder is suitably qualified to operate and full responsibility for ensuring all vehicle checks are undertaken prior to commencing any works.
- Compliance with tachograph regulations and reporting in the required manner.
- Ensuring your vehicle and equipment is kept clean, tidy & secure, and any defects are reported immediately.
- Ensuring a clean and tidy appearance as far as reasonably possible within the environment the post holder works in, wearing appropriate uniform and PPE where required (provided PPE must be maintained and any defects reported).
- Be part of the on call rota, which will include being available at certain times including evenings, weekends and bank holidays (at overtime rate).
- Liaison with customers on site to discuss on-going works and further services of the Company.
- Completion of all works paperwork and submission in a timely manner to depot supervision, including but not limited to; vehicle daily checks, job tickets & timesheets.
- Complete all relevant training required for the role, including but not limited to – CSCS & Confined Space.

The Company expects all employees to adhere to safe working practices and all tasks should be undertaken, applying correct procedures and seeking precise advice and guidance from supervision when required.
Measures of success: In addition to a probationary review period and annual appraisal, the postholder will be continually monitored to ensure performance is as expected and required. Supervision may choose to discuss performance at any time to assist the development of the postholder.
Qualifications Knowledge & experience:
- Full Class C UK Driving Licence – whilst a requirement for the role, we would consider applicants without but with the competency to obtain.
- Strong problem solving skills and the ability to turn a hand to mechanical fault finding.
- Valid CPC card.
- Willingness to undertake any additional training to increase capability of the division in supplying a service to customers.
- A knowledge of the waste water industry is preferable.
- At least 2 years driving experience of a HGV is preferable.
- Flexibility towards hours and understanding of the reactive nature to the utilities industry.
- Ability to be a team player with a flexible approach to work at night/weekend work if necessary.
- Ability to work under pressure and use their own initiative.
- Comfortable working with raw sewage.
- Proof of Right to work in the UK.
