Kickstart your career as a Drainage Operative and help us enhance wastewater systems and prevent pollution, while building a hands-on career. As a Drainage Operative you will firstly get to grips with the basics of working in the drainage field. You will learn the ropes, working with our experienced teams on either CCTV or Jetting vehicles, building an understanding on how we approach jobs using best practice.

We work for the local water authority inspecting and maintaining drainage routes, for building companies cleaning and surveying pipes prior to completion and there are also multiple opportunities to be involved and assist in larger scale projects taking place in other departments within the company, such as tank and syphon cleaning. Once the initial training has been completed you will have developed a varied knowledge on how to approach jobs, select supplies required and how to expertly use the equipment, assisting the vehicle lead to approach and complete jobs effectively.

About the role:

  • High Pressure Water Jetting.
  • Working in confined spaces.
  • Driving and operating Van Packs, variety of CCTV vehicles & Jetting rigs across the fleet.
  • Manual Handling, Carrying Suction Hose, cleaning up spillages and removing debris using brushes, shovels etc.
  • Cleaning of sewer and storm lines using a high pressure unit or aiding with the Recycler team.
  • Assist the vehicle lead to achieve timely job completion.
  • Undertake all training and development as required.
  • Thorough completion of site/works information on a tablet device.
  • Working away may be required.
