Payroll Specialist
Location: Harrogate (Hybrid working available)

About the Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our Finance team. This is a hybrid role based in Harrogate, offering the flexibility to work both remotely and in the office. You will play a key role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll across the group, in compliance with current legislation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and input payroll data accurately and efficiently
- Conduct minimum wage checks and payroll reconciliations
- Administer pensions and auto-enrolment assessments
- Produce and distribute payslips, P45s, P60s, and payroll reports
- Calculate average holiday pay for variable pay staff
- Maintain electronic payroll records and filing systems
- Respond to employee pay-related queries
- Support payroll costings and journal preparation
- Administer payrolled benefits and maintain scheme membership lists
- Assist in training new payroll staff
- Support the Assistant Payroll Manager and Group Payroll Manager with ad hoc tasks

- In depth payroll experience, including starters, leavers, statutory pay, and leave
- Strong knowledge of PAYE/NIC legislation and payroll best practices
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (intermediate level)
- Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Strong communication skills and confidence to liaise across all levels of the business
- Experience with pensions administration and automatic enrolment
- Ability to manage workload independently and meet strict deadlines
