About the role
The Engineering Manager will play a key technical delivery role within the engineering team, managing multiple electrical and instrumentation projects. This position focuses on the technical and client‑facing aspects of projects—handling site surveys, scoping, specifications, system integration, testing, and delivery—while liaising with design, commercial, and project delivery functions to ensure client requirements are met to the highest standard.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct site visits to assess existing client installations, diagnose issues, and gather technical requirements.
- Develop project scopes, specifications, and proposals for system upgrades, modifications, or full replacements.
- Lead the technical delivery of multiple concurrent projects, ensuring compliance with engineering standards and on‑time completion.
- Liaise closely with internal Electrical Design Engineers to review drawings, schematics, and design documentation.
- Coordinate with external hydraulic consultants for specialist design elements.
- Review and contribute to HAZOP documentation, interfacing with third‑party design approval bodies.
- Ensure all electrical and instrumentation systems meet applicable certification and compliance requirements (including CompEx and ATEX where applicable).
- Support the commercial and sales teams by identifying technical requirements and preparing accurate costings and proposals.
- Maintain strong communication with clients throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring technical clarity and satisfaction.
- Oversee build, integration, and testing phases, ensuring project documentation and quality records are fully maintained.
- Report project status, progress, and risks to senior stakeholders.
