Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive legal advice and support to clients on family law matters including divorce, financial settlements, child arrangements, adoption, and domestic violence.
- Prepare and draught legal documents such as petitions, statements of case, consent orders, and financial statements.
- Manage a caseload efficiently, ensuring deadlines are met and clients are kept informed of progress.
- Conduct client interviews and maintain professional and empathetic client relationships.
- Negotiate settlements and liaise with opposing parties, courts, and other agencies.
- Attend court hearings and mediations as required, representing the interests of clients under supervision or independently where appropriate.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records in accordance with firm procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Keep abreast of developments in family law and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and professional standards.
- Support the wider legal team in developing efficient processes and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Experience working in Legal Aid would be beneficial/preferred.
