Adkins & Cheurfi are recruiting for an experienced Head Chef on behalf of an award winning family-friendly pub located in the heart of South Shields, offering a warm and welcoming atmosphere alongside hearty, home-cooked meals. With an emphasis on fresh, locally sourced ingredients, this pub takes pride in delivering high-quality food. It's dedication to excellence has earned it a loyal customer base and great reputation. Key Responsibilities Kitchen Leadership: Oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, including staff management, scheduling, and training. Menu Development: Design creative and appealing menus that cater to a diverse audience, including families and children. Food Preparation: Ensure all dishes are prepared to the highest standards, consistently delivering quality and taste. Cost Control: Manage food costs, stock levels, and waste to maximise profitability. Compliance: Ensure the kitchen complies with all health and safety regulations, including food hygiene and allergen management. Team Development: Foster a positive working environment, mentoring and motivating your team to excel. Event Catering: Develop and execute special menus for events, seasonal promotions, and celebrations hosted at the pub. Skills & Experience Required Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Chef in a similar family-friendly or casual dining environment. Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage and inspire a team. A passion for creating delicious, family-friendly meals with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure during busy periods. A solid understanding of kitchen operations, cost control, and menu planning. Knowledge of health and safety standards and food hygiene regulations (Level 2 Food Safety Certificate or above is preferred). What We Offer Competitive salary (dependent on experience).
