Purpose – To expand and strengthen the physical trading of UK & EU origin recycled metals trading (ferrous and non-ferrous) by driving sourcing, marketing and execution of transactions across global markets for enhanced market share. The role will contribute to the growth of the metals trading portfolio through customer acquisition, relationship management, market intelligence, and trade coordination.

Broad Responsibilities:

  • Business Development, Sourcing & Market Expansion
    • Grow the UK & EU origin recycled metals trading business across ferrous and non-ferrous markets.
    • Develop sourcing channels and commercial relationships with recyclers, processors, merchants, brokers, and industrial suppliers.
    • Identify and develop sales opportunities with steel mills, foundries, traders, processors, and other end-users in the UK and international markets.
    • Monitor market trends, pricing, trade flows, and competitive activity to identify and capitalize on trading opportunities.
  • Trade Execution & Stakeholder Coordination
    • Execute physical recycled metals transactions from contract negotiation through settlement.
    • Coordinate with suppliers, customers, logistics providers, and internal stakeholders to ensure efficient trade execution.
    • Negotiate commercial terms and manage day-to-day interactions with counterparties across multiple geographies.
    • Partner with logistics, operations, finance, risk, and compliance teams to ensure timely shipment, execution, and settlement of trades.
    • Provide market intelligence and commercial insights to support trading decisions and business growth.
