What will your responsibilities be:
- Carrying out checks and maintenance as outlined within the PPM (Planned Preventative Maintenance) scheme.
- Work to both fault find and carry out repairs.
- Be reactive to and carry out repair/breakdown.
- Monitor and interpret data to support efficiency of machinery.
- Fault diagnosis and repair on engineering systems equipment.
- Handover between shifts.
- Conduct servicing of equipment including repair & replacement.
- Carry out reasonable instructions from Lead Engineers or Senior Managers.
- Involvement in multiskilling (cross discipline) duties as appropriate.
- Ensure that all Health and Safety standards are maintained and that you show due diligence at all times.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures e.g. health and safety training & development, disciplinary & grievance, and sickness & absence.
- To carry out any other reasonable requests to meet the needs of the business.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end:
Advanced Engineering Apprenticeships normally last four years during which time the employee will attend NorthWest Training College on block release for the 1st year followed by day release for training and further education. The remainder of the time will be spent at Adient training in Maintenance/Engineering. A technical training assessor will support throughout the apprenticeship.
- Level 2 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Foundation Competence).
- Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Competence).
- Mechatronics Maintenance Technician Level 3 Diploma or Extended Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Knowledge).
Which qualifications are we looking for in potential employees:
- GCSEs in: 2 Additional technical qualifications (grade C/4 or above).
- English Language (grade C/4 or above).
- Maths (grade C/4 or above).
- Science (grade C/4 or above).
About the role:
Hours are subject to change throughout both the duration of your apprenticeship and once you have completed it. Hours may include fixed hours/shifts/evenings/weekends. Total hours per week: 39. Annual Wage: £16,842.54 p/a. This role will incur an annual increase throughout the duration of the apprenticeship. Start date: 1st Sep 2025 is 2-week company induction, 1-week NWTC induction then training starts 22nd September.
