Location – West Midlands

As Project Cost Control Manager, you will play a key role in managing the commercial and project control aspects of complex industrial projects from concept through to completion. Combining elements of quantity surveying, cost control and project support, you will work closely with Project Managers, engineering teams and clients to ensure projects are delivered efficiently, within budget and in line with programme requirements.

This role is ideally suited to someone from a mechanical or electrical engineering background with experience working within contractor-led industrial environments such as manufacturing, process, food & beverage or related sectors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and manage project cost estimates for labour, materials, equipment and subcontract services
  • Monitor project costs, commitments, forecasts and work-in-progress performance
  • Support resource forecasting and project planning activities
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of project schedules and timing plans
  • Manage contract variations and change control processes
  • Track project performance, cost variance and earned value metrics
  • Maintain project risk registers and support risk management activities
  • Produce project cost and progress reports for internal and external stakeholders
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships
About You

  • Proven experience in cost control, quantity surveying or project controls within industrial engineering environments
  • Experience working within contractor-led projects across manufacturing, process, food & beverage or similar industrial sectors
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to manage budgets, forecasts and project performance
  • Excellent analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Confident communicator with strong stakeholder management abilities
  • Self‐motivated, proactive and detail-oriented
