About the Role
As a Project Manager, you will work closely with the leadership team to deliver mechanical projects on time and within budget, while promoting a culture of continuous improvement across all areas of the mechanical business. You will be responsible for evaluating large-scale, complex opportunities and working with the leadership team to identify key revenue streams. This includes coordinating internal and Group resources to produce compliant, competitive, and successful tender submissions. In addition, you will prepare customer quotations based on scope-of-works documentation and site visits where required. You will ensure that all tasks are carried out in alignment with Quality Plans, Specifications, company policies, procedures, UK regulations, and client requirements.
Specifically, your key responsibilities will include:
- Managing and delivering industrial mechanical / M&E / Utilities and Process projects from initiation through to completion.
- Preparing quotations, securing new work, and contributing to ongoing revenue growth.
- Overseeing onsite activities to ensure all projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and to the required specifications.
- Coordinating suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure seamless project execution.
- Monitoring budgets, labour resources, and overall project performance to achieve and exceed commercial targets.
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships while actively identifying and securing new business opportunities.
- Ensuring all mechanical installations meet regulatory requirements, technical drawings, and quality standards.
- Leading project meetings, providing clear progress updates, and resolving issues promptly.
- Managing project documentation, variations, and handover packages to a high standard.
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives and supporting the ongoing development of the mechanical division.
About you
We would like to hear from you if you have:
- A time-served apprenticeship or ONC/HNC in Mechanical / Process Engineering.
- CAD capability and the ability to produce and maintain engineering drawings.
- Proven experience within the food and beverage industry (this is essential).
- Strong financial and operational management awareness.
- Good judgement, decision-making skills, and a solutions-focused approach.
- Experience managing customers and stakeholders effectively.
- Solid Health & Safety management being able to operate under CDM controls.
- A successful track record of managing large-budget projects in competitive environments.
- Experience securing major revenue projects and contributing to business strategy and policy development.
