We are looking for a Mechanical Project Engineer to deliver mechanical fabrication and installation projects across industrial, process, and utilities environments. The role combines hands-on mechanical engineering with project delivery, site coordination, and commercial awareness.

You will support projects from tender stage through fabrication, installation, and final handover, working closely with fabrication teams, site engineers, subcontractors, and clients to ensure safe, on-time, and compliant delivery.

Specifically, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Deliver mechanical fabrication and installation projects from concept to completion.
  • Review scopes, drawings, and specifications to develop practical engineering solutions.
  • Support estimating, quotations, and technical submissions, including site surveys.
  • Coordinate fabrication, suppliers, subcontractors, and site installation activities.
  • Monitor programme, labour, and costs to maintain project and commercial control.
  • Ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, UK regulations, and Health & Safety (CDM).
  • Manage project documentation, variations, and handover packs.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships.

We would like to hear from you if you have:

  • Time-served apprenticeship and/or ONC/HNC in Mechanical or Process Engineering.
  • Proven experience in mechanical fabrication and installation contracting.
  • CAD capability and experience producing or reviewing mechanical drawings.
  • Food and beverage industry experience (essential).
  • Strong Health & Safety awareness and experience working under CDM regulations.
  • Practical, solutions-focused mindset with good commercial awareness.
