We are seeking a skilled and motivated Approved Electrician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, testing, inspection, and maintenance of low‑voltage electrical systems within industrial and manufacturing environments. You will play a key part in ensuring electrical systems are installed safely, maintained to the highest standards, and compliant with current regulations.

Location: Birmingham

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carrying out general electrical maintenance, fault finding, and testing
  • Installing low‑voltage wiring systems and associated containment
  • Installing, terminating, and testing network cabling systems
  • Performing electrical isolation of live circuits in accordance with safe systems of work
  • Maintaining electrical services and distribution systems
  • Delivering planned preventative maintenance (PPM) in line with maintenance schedules
  • Testing and energising systems up to 400 V, including new and modified installations
  • Issuing Electrical Installation Certificates (EICs), Condition Reports (EICRs), and associated NICEIC/BS EN 60079 documentation
  • Maintaining accurate maintenance records and updating drawings as required

About You:

  • Experience as an Approved Electrician within an industrial and/or manufacturing environment – domestic experience will not be considered.
  • Experience of electrical installations and testing within a process plant environment.
  • Experience of working in the automotive industry would be ideal.
  • 18th Edition (City & Guilds 2382) Electrical Inspection & Testing qualification (City & Guilds 2391, 2394 or 2395)
  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or completion of a time‑served apprenticeship
