Location – This role is ideally suited to someone based in the Midlands, covering a Midlands-focused territory, however regular travel to customer sites will be required.
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Account Manager to join our Environmental Services team. This is a varied role combining contractual service delivery, technical consultancy, and sales development, focused on water and steam quality management. You will be responsible for ensuring our customers remain compliant with legislation while improving plant efficiency, reducing energy consumption, lowering maintenance costs, and minimising downtime. Alongside service delivery, you will actively identify and develop opportunities to grow existing accounts and generate new business.
Specifically, your key responsibilities will include:
- Deliver contractual water treatment services, consultancy and audits in line with agreed scopes and timescales
- Analyse water quality across customer systems, interpret results, and make practical, compliant recommendations
- Ensure all work is carried out in line with environmental, health & safety, and company standards
- Plan and organise service visits effectively, ensuring contractual tasks are completed on time
- Use every site visit as an opportunity to identify and develop additional product and service opportunities
- Follow up pre-qualified leads and manage opportunities through the sales pipeline
- Work closely with internal teams to support forecasting, planning and business growth
- Prepare and present service proposals where appropriate and proactively convert opportunities into orders
- Build strong customer relationships through a consultative, solution-led approach
- Maintain accurate reporting, documentation and use of company systems
About you
We would like to hear from you if you have:
- Proven experience in account management, consultancy or a technical service role (water treatment or environmental services preferred)
- Strong customer-facing skills with a consultative and commercial mindset
- Ability to analyse data, diagnose issues and propose effective solutions
- Well organised, self-motivated and comfortable managing a varied workload
- Confident communicator with strong relationship-building skills
- Willingness to travel regularly as part of the role with a full UK driving license
