Location – Client sites across the North of England (Based out of Wirral Office)
We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our growing automation team. You will take responsibility for managing automation and control systems projects from initial client requirements through to successful delivery and handover.
Working closely with clients and our multidisciplinary engineering teams, you will ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required project form of contract and quality standards. This is a varied, hands-on role involving regular travel to client sites across the North, with projects spanning sectors including food, beverage, chemical, marine and materials handling.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Managing automation and control systems projects from concept through to completion.
- Acting as the main point of contact for clients, building strong relationships and managing expectations.
- Managing forms of contract including NEC and JCT.
- Developing and maintaining project programmes, budgets and delivery plans.
- Coordinating engineering, design, software, electrical and commissioning teams.
- Managing project scope, risks, variations, costs and change control.
- Working with clients to understand requirements and ensure the delivered solution meets expectations.
- Monitoring project progress and providing regular updates to internal and external stakeholders.
- Supporting quotations, cost control and project reporting.
- Coordinating FAT, installation, commissioning and final handover.
- Ensuring projects are delivered in line with relevant health, safety, quality and engineering standards.
About You
We would like to hear from you if you have:
- Proven experience managing automation, control systems or industrial engineering projects.
- Experience managing projects from initial client requirement through to completion.
- Strong project planning, organisation and commercial awareness.
- Experience managing budgets, programmes, risks and project scope.
- Excellent client and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams and manage competing priorities.
- Excellent communication skills and the confidence to deal directly with clients.
- A proactive approach and the ability to take ownership of projects from start to finish.
- A willingness to travel regularly to client sites across the North.
