Role Purpose: Under the direction of the County Manager, to support and improve the lives of people through the Carmarthenshire Mental Health Preventative Services project. The services in Carmarthenshire have a commitment to the principles of empowerment, self‑management and recovery and ensuring compliance with internal and external quality standards. The aim is to enable individuals to live in their community independently.
The service is to provide support to individuals who live in the community, in their own homes. The Carmarthenshire Mental Health Preventative Services project provides groups and 1:1 sessions for shorter durations of up to a maximum of twelve weeks. Staff work as part of a team, often alone and without direct supervision, to encourage and enable clients to engage in the above support services, reach a greater level of independence over a reasonable period and then facilitate the client’s move on from mental health services.
