Adey Steel is looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join our Commercial team. This role will support the Contract and Project Management teams with the commercial and financial management of projects, helping to monitor costs, maintain financial control and support the successful delivery of contracts. The role will also provide commercial support to our rail division.
Key responsibilities
- Provide Quantity Surveying support to Contract and Project Managers.
- Assist with the administration of valuations and pricing of variations.
- Maintain accurate contract financial reports and cost value reconciliations.
- Monitor job costings against quoted figures and highlight any anomalies.
- Support procurement activity and liaise with the purchasing department.
- Assist with contract applications, final accounts and contract reviews.
- Liaise with clients, internal departments and members of the professional team.
- Attend internal and external meetings to support commercial requirements.
Skills and experience required
- Experience in construction and steel quantity surveying.
- Knowledge of NEC and JCT contracts.
- A relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Accurate and methodical approach to maintaining financial and commercial information.
- Good understanding of wider construction processes.
- Competent in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and Microsoft Project.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable
- CSCS card.
- Experience providing commercial support on rail-related contracts.
