At Manthorpe Building Products, we manufacture innovative building products used in homes and commercial buildings across the UK.

Behind every product is a team of skilled engineers who keep our production lines operating safely, efficiently and reliably—and we’re looking for another Mechanical Bias Maintenance Engineer to join them.

Role Overview

As part of the Genuit Group, you’ll enjoy the stability of a well‑established business alongside a culture that values teamwork, continuous improvement and investing in its people.

You’ll play a key role in keeping production running smoothly, helping the business deliver for its customers every day.

  • What you’ll be doing
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance on production machinery and site equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical faults quickly and safely.
  • Respond to breakdowns and get equipment back into production with minimal downtime.
  • Replace and repair mechanical components including bearings, belts, chains, gearboxes, conveyors, pumps and pneumatic systems.
  • Support electrical engineers where required as part of a multi‑skilled maintenance team.
  • Assist with machinery installations, upgrades and continuous improvement projects.
  • Work closely with production teams to improve equipment reliability and performance.
  • Help maintain engineering stores and ensure critical spare parts are available.
  • Promote a safe working environment and follow all Health & Safety procedures.
  • Identify opportunities to improve machinery, reduce waste and increase efficiency.

Who we are looking for

  • Experience maintaining machinery within an industrial or manufacturing setting.
  • Skill at fault‑finding and repairing mechanical equipment.
  • Familiarity with hydraulics, pneumatics and rotating machinery.
  • Calm under pressure and able to prioritise breakdowns effectively.
  • A team player who communicates well with colleagues across the business.
  • Aself‑starter who always looks for ways to improve equipment and working practices.
  • Committed to working safely and maintaining high engineering standards.
