Overview
The Serviceperson / Production Operator takes product from the Injection Moulding machines that are transported via conveyors and onto tables. The product is checked for quality and, where required, has either assembly activities or completed as a finished article. The products are then packed into appropriate bags and/or boxes that are individually labelled and placed onto wooden pallets. The products are then booked onto the IFS system, wrapped, if required, and moved to either \'work in progress\' stores or \'finished goods\' stores. (Production data is found on Production Information sheets PIS). The role requires the post-holder to weigh count all product going to \'work in progress\' stores and record the amount accurately. To monitor production run-times and record any over-runs and report them to the Leader. The role also requires the post-holder to help the Leader organise the Operator labour effectively. Hours of work: Rotating 3 shift 06:00 - 14:00 14:00 - 22:00 22:00 - 06:00.
Responsibilities
- Ensure production outputs are achieved on time and in full
- Ensure quality standards are achieved at all times
- Ensure product once inspected is placed into bags and, or boxes with relevant labels and safely packaged and stacked onto a suitable pallet.
- Ensure all relevant data is captured / collected and entered onto appropriate systems
- When product is booked onto system and the relevant forms / labels issued the product can be moved to either the working progress or finished goods stores
- Operation of the case erector machine to produce boxes for the shift
- Wherever possible ensure that a programme of continuous improvement is undertaken
- Ensure a clean and safe working area for yourself and others
- Ensure all waste products are separated into their designated containers
- Communicate with the warehouse, purchasing, planning and assembly departments to ensure efficient and correct movements of products and consumables
- Manage moulding consumables usage to ensure availability
- Communicate important issues during handovers at the beginning and end of the shift
- Ensure product selected for packing is the correct visual and dimensional quality as defined on product information sheets (PIS)
- Packing will only commence once first off approval has been given by Protec or Shift leader and all products prior to that are to be scrapped and recorded on relevant systems
- Select and print descriptive labels and attach to appropriate bags / cartons and then place onto wooden pallet
- Auditing product quality, product sheets and labels to ensure correct information is recorded and stamped before booking of product.
- Minor fault finding and rectification as required after relevant training
- Transfer of data onto relevant systems IFS, EPICOR, QUALITY DATABASE. The data to be recorded is production booking, scrap and overruns
- When product is packaged and to the correct quality it can be booked onto the IFS system where a move ticket is generated, placed onto the palletised product and moved by truck to the warehouse
- Hold all licences for PTT, Flexi and Counterbalance MHE Equipment.
- Excellent communication skills.
