Production Planning & Scheduling Develop and manage production schedules, ensuring optimal use of resources to meet production targets and deadlines.

Coordinate with procurement, supply chain, and other departments to ensure availability of materials and equipment.

Monitor and adjust production plans in response to demand changes, inventory levels, and resource availability.

Team Leadership & Development Lead and manage the production team, including supervisors, operators, and maintenance staff, fostering a positive and high-performance work environment.

Conduct regular performance reviews, provide feedback, and develop training programs to enhance team skills and efficiency.

Promote a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement among team members.

Quality Control & Compliance Ensure all products meet quality standards by implementing and monitoring quality control procedures throughout the production process.

Coordinate with the quality assurance team to address any quality issues and drive corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.

Maintain compliance with industry standards and regulations, including health, safety, and environmental policies.

Efficiency & Continuous Improvement Identify and implement process improvements to enhance production efficiency, reduce waste, and lower costs.

Conduct regular reviews of production processes, equipment, and workflows, recommending and implementing changes as needed.

Lead lean manufacturing and other continuous improvement initiatives to drive operational efficiency and productivity.

Health, Safety, and Environmental Management Ensure a safe working environment by enforcing health and safety policies, conducting regular safety audits, and addressing safety hazards.

Provide training on safe work practices and emergency procedures, ensuring staff are equipped to maintain a safe production environment.

Promote environmental sustainability by implementing practices to reduce waste and improve resource efficiency.

Budget & Cost Control Manage the production budget, including labor, materials, and maintenance costs, working to meet or exceed financial targets.

Track expenses, analyse cost variances, and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality or safety.

Collaborate with the Head of Operations to develop and monitor production cost targets, preparing reports on financial performance and operational efficiency.

Maintenance & Equipment Management Oversee maintenance schedules and repairs for production equipment to ensure minimal downtime and maximise operational efficiency.

Work with the maintenance team to address equipment breakdowns quickly and effectively, minimising disruptions to production.

Recommend equipment upgrades or replacements as necessary to maintain production standards and efficiency.

Reporting & Performance Monitoring Prepare and present regular reports on production performance, including key metrics such as output, quality, efficiency, and safety.

Analyse production data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and best practices.

Report production issues, resource needs, and potential risks to the Head of Operations, proposing solutions to meet operational goals.
