An established building services engineering consultancy based in North Bristol is seeking a Junior Mechanical Building Services Engineer to join its growing team. This role is ideal for someone with 1–3 years’ experience within mechanical building services design who is looking to further develop their career within a supportive consultancy environment. You will assist in the delivery of mechanical design solutions across a variety of building projects, including both new build and refurbishment schemes across the UK.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with mechanical building services design across a range of projects
  • Support senior engineers in delivering projects across RIBA work stages
  • Produce technical calculations, drawings and design documentation
  • Work alongside architects, structural engineers and contractors
  • Assist with site visits, surveys and commissioning activities
  • Contribute to the development of energy-efficient and sustainable engineering solutions

Requirements

  • 1–3 years’ experience within mechanical building services design
  • Experience working within a building services consultancy or engineering environment
  • Understanding of HVAC systems, ventilation, heating and cooling design
  • Basic knowledge of UK building regulations and RIBA work stages
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
  • IESVE or similar building performance modelling tools
  • Degree, HND or HNC in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
