Adept:us is recruiting for a Senior Control Systems Engineer for a Portsmouth based client who are at the forefront of engineering innovation within their field. Please note that this role is a 12 month FTC.
The Role:
As a Senior Control Systems Engineer, you will contribute to the development of advanced control systems across hybrid, electric, and dynamic stability applications within a high-performance engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work within a small, multidisciplinary engineering team to design and develop integrated control systems.
- Use MATLAB Simulink to model, simulate, and validate control strategies.
- Define and select suitable sensors, actuators, and subsystems for control integration.
- Develop, implement, and refine control algorithms for performance optimisation.
- Perform system-level analysis, modelling, and simulation to ensure compliance with functional requirements.
- Collaborate closely with mechanical, electrical, and embedded software engineers to achieve seamless system integration.
- Support commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting activities.
About You:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, or a related discipline.
- Strong capability in MATLAB Simulink for control design and simulation.
- Experience implementing control algorithms in C.
- Proven experience integrating sensors, actuators, and control hardware.
- Exposure to electrified systems, high-performance vehicles, or dynamic control applications (beneficial).
- Analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable solving complex engineering challenges.
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative development environment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly.
